Clopper Lake

Copper Lake is a man-made lake located in Montgomery County, Maryland. The lake is part of the Little Seneca Creek watershed and is located within the Black Hill Regional Park. The lake was created in 1980 when a dam was built on the creek to create a recreational lake. The lake is surrounded by parkland and is a popular destination for fishing, boating, kayaking, and hiking. The lake covers an area of 67 acres and has a maximum depth of 45 feet. It is home to a variety of fish species including largemouth bass, bluegill, sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. The lake also has several boat launches and is a popular spot for kayaking and canoeing. Additionally, the lake is the primary source of drinking water for the city of Gaithersburg.
